Coordinate and support the day-to-day operations of elevator maintenance and repair services across Duke Health facilities. Serve as the primary liaison with contracted elevator service vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely maintenance, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity. Provide operational support to the Supervisor and serve as acting lead in their absence. Periodic scheduled after-hours work is required.

DEPARTMENTAL PREFERENCES
Experience/Training in healthcare setting preferred.
Experience working with elevators, building systems, or regulated equipment preferred.
Demonstrated experience coordinating contractors or service vendors in a healthcare or complex facilities environment preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training - Work requires an educational background normally equivalent to a high school diploma.
Technical training or coursework in a mechanical, electrical, or facilities-related field preferred. State of NC contractor's license in a specific trade may be required or preferred.
Experience - 4 years of experience in facilities operations, skilled trades coordination, or vendor/contract management. (Minimum of four years maintenance and repair experience related to the specific equipment or four years of trades experience with at least one year related experience.)

- Knowledge of maintenance coordination, work order systems, and vendor management practices
- Ability to interpret reports, technical documentation, and regulatory requirements

- Ability to respond effectively in urgent or emergency situations
WORK PERFORMED
Vendor & Contract Coordination
- Coordinate daily activities of contracted elevator service providers, ensuring timely completion of maintenance, service calls, and repairs
- Monitor vendor performance, service quality, and adherence to contract terms, codes, and safety requirements
- Serve as primary point of contact for routine vendor communications and issue resolution
Maintenance & Compliance Support
- Assist in maintaining preventive maintenance schedules and tracking completion of required inspections
- Monitor deficiency reports and ensure timely follow-up actions
- Assist in the maintenance of records related to inspections, repairs, and compliance with N.C. Department of Labor requirements
- Coordinate and participate in required regulatory inspections and testing (e.g., fire service testing)
Operational Coordination
- Respond to elevator outages and coordinate vendor response, including escalations for critical issues such as patient/staff/visitor entrapments
- Track service requests and ensure timely resolution and communication with impacted departments
- Support coordination of elevator downtime with clinical and operational stakeholders
Project & Invoice Support
- Assist in coordination of modernization projects, working with vendors, consultants, and internal teams
- Review service tickets and assist in invoice verification for accuracy prior to approval
- Support documentation for capital projects and system upgrades
Program Support / Acting Lead Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support to the Supervisor
- Serve as acting lead during Supervisor absence, including prioritization of work and vendor coordination
- Help identify service trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement
- Participate in incident reviews and investigations as needed

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $23.58 to USD $38.97.
